Food.

I began @recipeswithcg in February 2021. I posted on average once every 2 months until October 25.

At the end of October, I decided to take this page seriously and post content at least once a week. I created a calendar and planned the days that I would cook for content. From November, 2021, @recipeswithcg grew from 18 to 74 followers in January 2022. and for the next couple of months grew to a total of 219 followers.

I went about this page 100% organically. I did not pay for ads, work with brands, or promote this outside of my personal platforms.

I wanted to see what it takes to build a digital audience/presence from the ground up, essentially, only relying on myself to grow a follower base.

December 2021

Started from the bottom now we are here…

Since my full-time job consists of editing content for 15 other companies, I have not found the time to post in 2023. So while this page is not longer actively posted on, the follower base I gained in the year 2022 shows how just about anyone can find a community online and reach people without paying for advertising.

There are always people who share the same interests as you, digitally, you can find that niche if you tailor your content in a way that attracts them.

My page organically portrays the conversations I want to happen. Simply put these conversations go something like:

It’s amazing how easy and refreshing food from a pantry can become when combined with the right ingredients. When you are the chef, you do not have to question where your food came from or if it was prepared ethically or cleanly. You can experiment with flavor combinations and the way ingredients taste and make you feel. Food not only gives your body energy but also gathers people together. Food is necessary to consume but it can be only as beautiful and interesting as you make it. If I must eat, I might as well create it with intention and share its beauty.
